About the Freedom Crossing Film Festival

Freedom Crossing Film Festival (FCFF) is a stage for storytelling that nourishes free dialogue across all kinds of boundaries. The festival’s mission is to support freedom of expression through independent films and documentaries, and to share authentic voices and experiences from a range of different faiths, cultures, and histories. We believe that dialogue is a key path to understand the life experiences of others and will ultimately nourish self-understanding and social awareness. FCFF offers a bridge for people from different backgrounds to build a dialogue and a sense of shared humanity as we all face the ultimate boundary, that between life and death.

Taipei Cultural Center in New York

The Taipei Cultural Center of Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in New York has played a significant role in enhancing Taiwan’s cultural image and promoting international cultural exchanges. To cope with the new trend of global cultural competition, the Taipei Cultural Center, breaking the regional boundary of New York City, has been actively bringing Taiwan’s cultures to North America and has strengthened cultural promotion considerably since July, 2002.

By using culture and arts as communication channels, Taiwan is able to enhance mutual understanding and appreciation in culture and arts, as well as to strengthen the friendship with the United States and Canada.

Taiwan Film Institute (TFI)

Taiwan Film Institute (TFI) is a foundation set up by the Ministry of Culture on July 28, 2014. It was upgraded from the Chinese Taipei Film Archive (CTFA), which had thirty-four years of history before it was replaced by TFI. One important mission of TFI is to preserve Taiwan and Chinese films. Though still without its own building with museum and theaters, TFI now has close to 17,500 Taiwan and Chinese film titles in its collection and is vigorously undertaking the important task of digital restoration.

Though film preservation and restoration are still TFI’s core missions, TFI will also play a significant role in the international promotion of Taiwan cinema. Three new departments, the Department of Documentary (Taiwan International Documentary Festival Office), the Department of Education and Public Services, and the Department of International Promotion have been set up. The expansion manifests that TFI is shouldering the important task of domestic film education as well as worldwide development of Taiwan cinema and documentary.

The Classic Vision Co., Ltd.

The Classic Vision Co., Ltd., established in 2007, endeavors to explore a "classic vision" of truth through influential works of film and video. Step by step, TCV not only produces positive works which win awards at multiple international film festivals, but also develops a platform for international distribution and successful funding. The Classic Vision Co. is successful both in pitching films on an international stage and building good partnerships with distributors across the market to spread films in Mainland China, the Middle East, Africa and Americas. In doing so it expands the stage for Taiwan documentaries.

A.Little

A.Little is founded with a simple concept: to make a better world for all “littles.” Through hosting volunteer events, A.Little hopes to create a network for people who want to make a little effort to help the unrecognized groups, including homeless animals, underprivileged children, solitary elderly, single parents, and more. A.Little wants people to remember one thing: Always be kind because a little bit of care, sharing, and love can make a big difference in someone’s life.
